New Zealand and the UK were the most active countries for "first-in-world" and "progressive" switches of medicines from prescription to non-prescription status from 2003-2013, according to a six-country study just published in the journal PLOS ONE. Australia, Japan, the Netherlands and the US were significantly less active.
