Sanofi and Boehringer Ingelheim have entered into exclusive negotiations on a business swap that would see Sanofi become a global leader in consumer healthcare and Boehringer Ingelheim become the second-largest animal health company. The two companies aim to close the potential transaction in the fourth quarter of 2016.
