The Nature's Bounty Co, Johnson & Johnson and GNC have all recently announced people changes.
The Nature's Bounty Co has recruited Amy von Walter as chief communications officer, reporting to president and chief executive officer Paul Sturman.
The US-based vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS) specialist said Walter would oversee internal and external communications as well as government affairs and corporate social responsibility.
Walter previously worked for Toys "R" Us, where she was executive vice president of global communications and customer care. She has also worked for Best Buy, the US Department of Homeland Security, Medtronic and Target.
J&J fills investor relations job
Johnson & Johnson has appointed Chris DelOrefice as vice president of investor relations. He has been with the US-based company for 19 years, most recently serving as chief financial officer of the North American Hospital Medical Devices business.
DelOrefice replaces Joseph Wolk, who recently became Johnson & Johnson's executive vice president and chief financial officer following the retirement of Dominic Caruso (click here to read the News story).
Martindale expands role at GNC
Health, wellness and performance retailer GNC has given its chief executive officer Ken Martindale the additional role of chairman. He takes over from Bob Moran who will remain on the board as lead independent director.
Martindale joined GNC in September 2017 from fellow US retailer Rite Aid, where he was chief executive officer of Rite Aid Stores and president of Rite Aid Corporation (click here to read the News story).
GNC reported sales of USD618 million in the second quarter of 2018, representing a fall of 5.0% compared to the same period a year earlier. The company said divesting Lucky Vitamin on 30 September 2017 had resulted in a sales reduction of USD22.6 million.
As of 30 June 2018, GNC had approximately 8,800 locations, of which around 6,600 retail locations were in the US including around 2,400 Rite Aid franchise store-within-a-store locations, as well as franchise operations in around 50 countries.
