Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has made changes to its Executive Committee, Moberg Pharma has announced that Peter Wolpert will not stand for re-election as chairman, Blackmores has a new chief financial officer, and Galderma has a new addition to its Advisory Committee.

J&J adds to Executive Committee

Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has promoted four people to its Executive Committee with effect from 3 January 2022.

Vanessa Broadhurst has been appointed executive vice president, global corporate affairs. She is company group chairman, global commercial strategy organisation.

Bill Hait – global head of J&J external innovation – has been appointed executive vice president, chief external innovation, medical safety and global public health officer.

Mathai Mammen has been appointed executive vice president, Pharmaceuticals, R&D. Mammen is global head of R&D at the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of J&J.

James Swanson – chief information officer – has been appointed executive vice president, chief information officer.

They will report to Joaquin Duato who takes over as chief executive officer of J&J on 3 January 2022 (click here to read the News story).

J&J also announced that Michael Sneed would retire from his post as executive vice president, global corporate affairs and chief communication officer on 1 April 2022.

Peter Wolpert is leaving Moberg

Moberg Pharma's chairman Peter Wolpert will not be available for re-election at the Annual General Meeting in May 2022.

The Swedish company said Wolpert had been appointed chief executive officer of private-equity firm Industrifonden with effect from March 2022.

Wolpert was chief executive officer of Moberg Pharma from 2006 until 2019. He became chairman in 2019 when the company divested its commercial OTC operations (click here to read the News story).

Blackmores names new finance chief

Blackmores has appointed Patrick Gibson as chief financial officer, replacing Gunther Burghardt who is leaving in late February 2022 to "pursue personal interests".

Gibson most recently served as chief financial officer at building fixtures and fitting supplier GWA Group. He has also worked for Brambles, Goodman Fielder and Unilever.

Australian natural health specialist Blackmores said Gibson would join in late February 2022.

Burghardt joined Blackmores in January 2020.

Change to Galderma 's Advisory Committee

Swiss dermatology company Galderma has announced that Maria Teresa Hilado is joining its Advisory Committee with effect from 1 January 2022.

Hilado was executive vice president and chief financial officer of pharmaceutical company Allergan from 2014 until her retirement in 2018. Prior to that, she worked for General Motors Company, PepsiCo and Schering-Plough.

She currently serves on the boards of directors at Campbell Soup Company, Zimmer Biomet and Pharmaceutical Product Development.
