GNC and McKesson have announced senior management appointments while Pfizer and Mylan have named two board members for Viatris.
GNC hires chief US officer
GNC has hired Josh Burris – president and chief operating officer of AM Retail Group – as its chief US officer.
The US-based health, wellness and performance retailer said Burris would be responsible for its retail and franchise operations, merchandising and supply chain strategy as well as strategic partnerships in the US.
He will report to Ken Martindale, GNC’s chairman and chief executive officer.
Burris spent more than seven years at AM Retail Group where he led acquisitions, integrated global brands into the group, and developed wholesale partnerships. Before joining AM Retail Group, he spent 16 years at Abercrombie & Fitch.
Viatris board members
Pfizer and Mylan have announced two board members for Viatris, the new company that will be formed from the planned combination of Mylan and Pfizer’s Upjohn business.
Ian Read – Pfizer’s executive chairman and former chief executive officer – will join the board of Viatris, as will James Kilts who has been a Pfizer director since 2007. They will be two of three Pfizer-designated members of the Viatris board.
Mylan's chairman Robert Coury will be executive chairman of the new company, Upjohn's group president Michael Goettler will be chief executive officer, and Mylan's president Rajiv Malik will be president.Pfizer announced in July 2019 that it planned to merge its off-patent pharmaceutical business Upjohn with generics company Mylan (click here to read the News story).
McKesson makes senior appointment
McKesson Corporation has appointed Nancy Flores as executive vice president, chief information officer and chief technology officer with effect from 13 January 2020.
Flores is chief information officer for Johnson Controls where she is responsible for Global Business Services including back office shared services, information technology, cybersecurity and analytics.
She will take over from Kathy McElligott who is retiring from the US-based drug distributor.
