The founders of New Chapter have set up a new company after leaving Procter & Gamble, while McKesson and Pierre Fabre have announced new recruits.

New venture for New Chapter founders

Paul and Barbi Schulick – founders of New Chapter, the vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS) business that has been a subsidiary of Procter & Gamble since 2012 – have set up a new company called byOM life.

They said they planned to use the brand byOM to "radically innovate botanical skincare while simultaneously preparing for a return to the nutraceuticals market in the summer of 2020". The first byOM products are scheduled for launch by the end of the first quarter of 2019.

Paul and Barbi Schulick left Procter & Gamble on 1 July 2018.

McKesson puts Caruso on Board

McKesson's Board of Directors has elected Dominic Caruso – former executive vice president and chief financial officer of Johnson & Johnson – as an independent director.

"Dominic's three decades of global financial and operational experience, leadership and tenure in the healthcare industry make him an ideal addition to our Board of Directors," said John Hammergren, chairman and chief executive officer of the US drug distributor.

Caruso left Johnson & Johnson in September 2018 after 19 years with the US-based company (click here to read the News story).

Pierre Fabre recruits Ormancey

Pierre Fabre has appointed Xavier Ormancey as director of research and development at its Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmetics business.

Ormancey joins the French company from US-based cosmetics business Counter Brands, where he was director of product development and a member of the Executive Committee. He has also worked for Chanel, L'Oréal and Yves Rocher.

He reports to Núria Perez-Cullel, chief executive officer of Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmetics, and will sit on the Executive Committee of the business.
