Bayer Consumer Health has a new head in Switzerland and two new general managers in North America, while the US Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) has hired Duffy MacKay.
Bayer Consumer Health has new Swiss head
Bayer Consumer Health has named Gustavo Gomez as head of its Swiss business, replacing George Fatouros who has moved to Bayer UK.
Gomez was previously Bayer Consumer Health’s commercial lead Austria, where he helped set up the Germany/Austria cluster. Prior to that, he was the regional director for customer excellence in the Asia-Pacific region.
Bayer makes changes in North America
Bayer Consumer Health has appointed new general managers to lead its Nutritionals and Digestive Health categories in North America.
Lisa Perez has been named general manager and vice president marketing, Nutritionals, while David Ball has been appointed general manager and vice president marketing, Digestive Health. Perez and Ball start their new roles on 1 November 2021.
Perez has been with Bayer for 16 years and is currently senior director marketing, Pain/Cardio. Ball currently serves as retail go-to-market lead for the Care/of vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS) business.
Perez and Ball will report directly to Dave Tomasi, Bayer Consumer Health’s chief commercial officer for North America.
“Lisa and David are both exceptional leaders who have delivered significant growth for our business,” said Tomasi. “Lisa is an inspiring and empowering leader who has led her team through toughest of times, while David brings a strong set of skills and experiences to his new role, including business leadership, science, and marketing.”
US CHPA hires Duffy MacKay
The US Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) has hired Duffy MacKay as senior vice president, dietary supplements.
The industry association pointed out that MacKay was a “highly-respected industry veteran with over two decades of commercial and non-profit experience in nutrition research, dietary supplement regulation, policy development and association leadership”.
MacKay spent a decade at the US Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) where he led the scientific and regulatory affairs function for the dietary supplement industry association.
He joins the CHPA from cannabidiol (CBD) company CV Sciences where he was senior vice president, scientific and regulatory affairs.
MacKay would lead the cross-functional dietary supplements team, commented the CHPA, adding that he would direct strategy, shape policy and collaborate with stakeholders to “help protect and grow this important, expanding consumer health category on behalf of the CHPA membership”.
He will report to the CHPA’s president and chief executive officer Scott Melville.
