Bayer is reducing the size of its board of management from seven to five members with effect from 1 January 2020.
The streamlined board will comprise chairman Werner Baumann, chief financial officer Wolfgang Nickl and the division presidents Liam Condon for Crop Science, Stefan Oelrich for Pharmaceuticals and Heiko Schipper for Consumer Health.
Hartmut Klusik, who is responsible for human resources, technology and sustainability, will leave the company by the end of the year. Kemal Malik, who is responsible for innovation and the Asia/Pacific region, is also leaving.
Bayer said the move was part of its ongoing efficiency programme.
