Alfasigma has recruited a new head for its Italian business, Bausch Health is making changes at the top, Sanofi is adding two directors to its board, and the US Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) has announced three promotions.

Alfasigma’s new head of Italy

Alfasigma has recruited Jacopo Murzi as general manager of its Italy Business Unit which combines the company’s Pharma Italy and Consumer Healthcare divisions.

Murzi joins Alfasigma from Johnson & Johnson where he spent more than 15 years with Janssen-Cilag in a number of countries including Italy, Poland, Romania and the US. He has also worked for Eli Lilly and Deloitte.

He will report to Pier Vincenzo Colli, Alfasigma’s chief executive officer.

Murzi takes over from Roberto Mazzucato who was head of the Pharma Italy division until December.

Changes at Bausch Health

Bausch Health Companies has announced that its chief financial officer Paul Herendeen will take up the newly-created position of advisor to the chairman and chief executive officer with effect from 1 June 2021.

Herendeen will be replaced by Sam Eldessouky, who is senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer of Bausch Health.

Eldessouky will become executive vice president and chief financial officer. He will join Bausch Health’s executive committee and will report to chairman and chief executive officer Joseph Papa.

Sanofi proposes changes to board

Sanofi plans to add two people to its board of directors at the next General Shareholder Meeting on 30 April 2021.

Barbara Lavernos is president research, innovation and technologies at the L’Oréal Group. She has been with the company since 1991.

Christian Brandts is director at the University Cancer Center Frankfurt in Germany.

The French pharmaceutical company said the appointments would strengthen the expertise of the board of directors in technology and science, notably in the field of oncology.

CRN announces promotions

The US Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) has promoted three members of staff.

Holly Vogtman, who joined the CRN in 2016, has been promoted to director, communications.

Rashidah Denton, who has been with the CRN since 2018, has been promoted to manager, scientific and regulatory affairs.

Gretchen Powers is now senior director, marketing and member experience.
