Akorn, The Clorox Company and Amway have all recently announced people changes.

Akorn seeking new CEO

Akorn is seeking a new chief executive officer to replace Raj Rai who has decided to retire from the US-based generics, OTC and animal health company. Rai will remain in the post until a replacement is found.

The news comes soon after the Delaware Chancery Court in the US ruled that Germany's Fresenius could terminate its planned USD4.75 billion acquisition of Akorn (click here to read the News story). The Supreme Court of the State of Delaware rejected Akorn's appeal against the judgement.

Promotion at Clorox

The Clorox Company has promoted Linda Rendle to executive vice president, strategy and operations with effect from 7 January 2019. Rendle will be responsible for the Nutranext and RenewLife businesses as well as the company's International division, its corporate business strategy and its five core global functions of marketing, sales, product supply, research and development, and information technology.

Rendle – who is currently executive vice president, cleaning and strategy – will continue to report to Benno Dorer, chair and chief executive officer of Clorox.

She will replace Dawn Willoughby who has resigned from the company.

Clorox has also promoted Stacey Grier to senior vice president, chief marketing officer. Grier will report to Rendle and join the company's Executive Committee.

Amway recruits from Campbell Soup

Direct-selling company Amway has appointed Anouchah Sanei as chief research and development officer. She joins from Campbell Soup where she was vice president, global science and technology.

Sanei will report to Gan Chee Eng, Amway's chief digital and product officer.
