Private-equity firm RoundTable Healthcare Partners has set up a functional ingredients platform to serve the consumer healthcare market and acquired US-based Nutrition21.
Called Everwell Health Holdings, the new platform plans to “add meaningful value to dietary supplement, food and beverage brands by offering scientifically-substantiated functional ingredient solutions that aim to help people look, feel and perform their best”.
RoundTable said Everwell would actively pursue partnerships and business development opportunities with additional functional ingredient companies.
Nutrition21 develops and markets ingredients for use in dietary supplements, foods and beverages.
The company’s brands include Chromax for weight management, Lustriva for beauty from within, Nitrosigine and Velositol for men’s health, nooLVL for sports nutrition and Zinmax for immune support.
RoundTable has appointed Steve Rosenman – who spent nearly a decade with International Vitamin Corporation – as chief executive officer of Everwell Health.
Nutrition21 was acquired from JDS Therapeutics for an undisclosed sum. Michael Satow, chief executive officer of JDS, will join Everwell’s board of directors.
