Hofseth BioCare has expanded its senior management team while Diapharm has opened a branch in Switzerland.
Hofseth BioCare expands team
Norway’s Hofseth BioCare (HBC) has recruited DKSH’s Tanja Schaffer as executive vice president of its Global Ingredients division and chief executive officer of its new Swiss subsidiary HBC Switzerland.
HBC said hiring Schaffer was part of a wider strategy to commercialise and grow its branded ingredients business.
Schaffer moves to HBC from DKSH where she was vice president global pharmaceuticals industry. Before joining DKSH a decade ago, she worked for chemicals company AlessaChemie.
HBC has also appointed Zubair Hussain as senior regulatory consultant. Hussain has worked for Ipsen, Novartis and Pfizer.
Diapharm opens branch in Switzerland
Germany’s Diapharm has opened a branch office in Switzerland, allowing it to act as a Swiss authorised representative for registration procedures and safety-related matters involving medical devices in the country.
The pharmaceutical consulting firm said changes to marketing and distribution of medical devices in Switzerland had been implemented in May 2021.
According to the Swiss Medical Devices Ordinance (MedDO), only Swiss companies are permitted to register medicinal products and medical devices with the regulatory agency Swissmedic.
Diapharm said manufacturers of medical devices based in the European Union and other third countries must appoint a Swiss authorised representative to register products with Swissmedic.
