German industry associations end merger talks

The German Medicines Manufacturers’ Association, the BAH, and the German Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry, the BPI, have ended their merger talks.

The two associations said in a statement that they had been unable to reach agreement on future cooperation.

The BAH and the BPI announced in December 2019 that they planned to merge (click here to read the News story).

The resulting association, they commented, would have represented more than 90% of the pharmaceutical companies operating in Germany.

The BAH has around 400 members while the BPI has around 270.
