Germany’s Diapharm has announced a strategic partnership in China with the aim of registering Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) products in the European Union.

Diapharm is working with Guangdong-Macau Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park Development (GMTCM Park), which it described as a “window for the internationalisation of TCM”.

The German consulting firm and service provider said GMTCM Park and Diapharm would “jointly support Chinese companies in bringing TCM onto the market in Europe”.

Ralf Sibbing, managing partner of Diapharm, commented that there was “increasing acceptance of products with herbal substances in the European Union”.

“The healthy living trend and a growing awareness of natural ingredients has led to a growth in food supplements and herbal medicinal products,” added Sibbing.
