BioGaia appoints new managing director
Isabelle Ducellier has worked for Pernod Ricard and McKinsey Sweden

25 June 2018 - Deborah Wilkes

Swedish probiotics specialist BioGaia has appointed Isabelle Ducellier as managing director with effect from 5 November 2018.

Ducellier is a member of BioGaia's Board of Directors and general secretary of the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund. She previously spent 20 years with beverage company Pernod Ricard and was a partner and consultant at McKinsey Sweden.

BioGaia announced in May 2018 that Axel Sjöblad would step down as managing director on 30 June 2018. Sjöblad had "successfully focused on further expanding BioGaia's sales capabilities", commented the company, adding that it was now "entering into the next phase with greater focus on consumer marketing and advanced research including the microbiome field" (click here to read the News story).

Commenting on Ducellier's appointment, BioGaia said she had "extensive knowledge and a solid international experience of leading positions in sales and consumer marketing, which has become an increasingly important component of our business development".

The company added that Ducellier had the "intellectual curiosity and energy needed to be able to embark on the advanced research in our business areas including the microbiome field".

Sebastian Schröder will continue as acting managing director until Ducellier takes over in November.
