Italy’s Angelini Pharma has recruited André Kindling as country manager of its new subsidiary in Germany.
Kindling moves to Angelini Pharma from Johnson & Johnson Medical where he was general manager of Vision Care for the Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) region.
Before joining Johnson & Johnson Medical, Kindling was responsible for a number of OTC portfolios. He worked for Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Nycomed, Merck Selbstmedikation and Boots Healthcare International.
Kindling will report to Luigi Cianci, Angelini Pharma’s chief commercial officer for its International business.
Angelini Pharma said Luca Filipponi had set up the German subsidiary and managed Austria and Germany for the past eight months.
Angelini acquires ThermaCare
Angelini Pharma recently acquired global business rights to the ThermaCare pain management brand – excluding North America – from GlaxoSmithKline for an undisclosed sum (click here to read the News story).
Angelini's OTC business
Privately-held Angelini Pharma recorded sales of EUR903 million (USD964 million) in 2019, of which half was generated outside its home market of Italy. It has a direct presence in 15 countries and its products are marketed in about 70 countries.
In addition to ThermaCare, the company's consumer healthcare portfolio includes Amuchina disinfectants, Moment pain relievers, Tantum Verde oral care and sore throat products. The products are available in Italy and a number of other countries including Portugal and Spain.
Angelini Pharma is the pharmaceutical division of Angelini Group which has annual sales of around EUR1.70 billion.
